Vestige Ornamental - Rattlesnake Lake, WA

In the heart of Rattlesnake Lake's landscape, a striking testament to the past emerges as the dry season unveils this Vestige Ornamental. These weathered remnants, old-growth stumps, have persevered through the ages, adorning a surreal terrain.

As the water recedes seasonally, a submerged graveyard awakens—a solemn reminder of what was once a majestic ancient forest, resting at the lake's bed. The sight of these ornate trees and roots, now 'cut down,' evokes a poignant reflection on humanity's heedlessness with one of our most precious resources. Vestige Ornamental is my interpretation of a captivating and thought-provoking encounter with the enduring beauty of nature's legacy.
