Iluminado - Rattlesnake Lake, WA

I made it my mission to photograph Washington's awe-inspiring landscape often. One of my favorite places within a 15-minute drive was Rattlesnake Lake. And, in this image, I again make the tree I called Dendron Solus a focal point. I composed the image in a way that encourages your eyes to move throughout the scene.

As the sun began to set behind Rattlesnake Mountain, a nicely formed sun flare appeared to punctuate the moment. Although this is not one of my most contrasted or color-driven images, it is one of my preferred ones.
